Eclypsium Named Winner in Cyber Defense Magazine’s Black Unicorn Awards for 2022

Award given to companies that demonstrate incredible potential in cybersecurity market

Portland, OR – Oct. 27, 2022Eclypsium® today announced that it has been named a winner in the annual Black Unicorn Awards for 2022 in the sub-category of Baby Black Unicorns, denoting a cybersecurity company that has the potential to reach a $1 billion dollar market value within three to five years as determined by private or public investment.

“Eclypsium competed against many promising cybersecurity technology startups for this prestigious award, which showcases companies with incredible potential in the cybersecurity marketplace so it is a great honor to have been named a winner,” said Yuriy Bulygin, CEO and Co-founder of Eclypsium. “As global supply chains become increasingly interdependent and complex, threat actors are also increasingly setting their sights on the hardware and software systems that run them. It’s vital, therefore, that we educate organizations about the risks they face, the importance of a security strategy rooted in zero trust, and arm them with the tools to defend their device fleets and supply chains.”

Eclypsium solves an unaddressed problem, which follows the supply chain all the way into operations comprising data center and endpoint security. Only Eclypsium addresses firmware security risks through a purpose-built, enterprise-class platform that removes the cost, complexity and risk of protecting this fast-growing attack surface.

Eclypsium’s cloud-based firmware security solution includes the ability to 1) automatically discover/identify network devices and provide ongoing visibility into the firmware of an organization’s network devices and infrastructure; 2) verify the integrity of all firmware and detect indicators of compromise, including known and unknown firmware rootkits, implants, and backdoors; 3) fortify network appliances by remotely applying firmware updates to proactively patch vulnerabilities.

The company recently announced that it had raised $25 million in Series B financing, in addition to the $25 million raised in earlier funding rounds. In addition to these achievements, Eclypsium has also:

  • Appointed multiple industry leaders to its executive team across sales, engineering, marketing, and research
  • Won multiple prestigious awards including the Gartner Cool Vendor, CNBC Upstart 100, and Fast Company Most Innovative Security Companies awards
  • Discovered industry-wide risks in the supply chains of major equipment manufacturers across enterprise laptops, servers, PC firmware, and critical device software.
  • Been added to CISA’s Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation as the only supply chain security solution for enterprise hardware and firmware.
