Eclypsium appoints Jarrod Bogue as Chief Revenue Officer and Arif Kareem to the Board of Advisors
Portland, OR – December 1, 2021 – Eclypsium®, the enterprise firmware security company, today announced the appointment of Jarrod Bogue as Chief Revenue Officer and welcomed Arif Kareem to Eclypsium’s Board of Advisors.
As Eclypsium’s first CRO, Jarrod joins the organization with over 20 years of experience driving growth across multiple customer segments and geographies. Having led large global sales operations at software and hardware companies including Siemens, Hewlett Packard Enterprises, Trend Micro, and Micro Focus Software, Jarrod will oversee Eclypsium’s revenue operations, including the Global Sales Organization, Business Development, and Channel Partnerships.
“With remote work becoming the default, attackers are setting their sights on end user devices and the ways that users connect back to the enterprise. Increasingly, this has directed their attention to firmware, which is rarely well-protected,” said Yuriy Bulygin, CEO of Eclypsium. “Jarrod joins Eclypsium at a pivotal time in the organization when firmware security has become an essential part of modern enterprise security practice. We are excited to have him join us to drive further growth and expand our market reach to help more customers benefit from the visibility and control over their device risks that Eclypsium brings.”
Eclypsium provides simple, automated security to the most critical layers of the most critical devices. Unlike traditional security which stops at the OS or application layers, Eclypsium extends security to the low-level code, firmware, hardware settings, and configurations that the higher software layers rely on. Security at this level is fundamental for network devices which rely on tightly integrated software, firmware, and hardware.
“In my time in this industry, I’ve seen enterprise-class CISOs get much better at protecting their organizations by remediating OS- and application-level vulnerabilities and patching their systems in a timely way. But recent developments in the threat landscape highlight the need to secure the firmware layer,” said Bogue. “I am excited to join Eclypsium that is uniquely positioned to address the gaps within this expanding attack surface and I look forward to working with the most capable team to further the company’s momentum.”
Eclypsium also announced the addition of Arif Kareem to its Board of Advisors. Kareem brings more than 30 years of experience accelerating growth for companies in the enterprise software and network security markets. He currently serves as CEO of ExtraHop, a leading provider of cloud-native network detection and response, and recently led the company through its $900 million acquisition by Bain Capital Private Equity and Crosspoint Capital Partners. Before joining ExtraHop, Kareem served as President of Fluke Networks, where he realigned and expanded the company’s product portfolio to provide greater visibility across networks and cloud applications, improving the end-user experience, and increasing overall business value.
“Eclypsium is on a mission to address one of the most overlooked challenges in cybersecurity: firmware. While there are hundreds of products that address the upper stack––monitoring, updating, and patching software–Eclypsium is the first platform that focuses on the integrity and security of firmware for every connected device, from laptops to servers, to the IoT and OT devices that remain largely unaddressed by traditional endpoint management. I look forward to working with Eclypsium’s management team as they build the next generation of endpoint protection,” said Kareem.
“We are incredibly fortunate to have assembled such an experienced and seasoned team of advisors to help us navigate our growth as we expand our offering to address firmware issues across all enterprise devices” continued Bulygin. “We are delighted to welcome Arif and know he will provide vital insight and perspective for the company.”
