Hardware Hacking Coaster Reference Guide

Introducing the Eclypsium Hardware Hacking Coaster—use it as a research tool to emulate potential vulnerabilities or to place your drink on. Eclypsium’s coaster contains four industry assessment and measurement tools to identify and quantify security risks.

  1. FTDI Breakout: Used to literally “breakout” all the pins of the ft2232 chip, this jack-of-all-trades/swiss-army knife tool can be used to read SPI flash, JTAG and more.

  2. Facedancer21: Designed by Travis Goodspeed, the sole purpose of Facedancer21 is USB fuzzing. With it one computer can fuzz-test the USB device drivers of another computer.

  3. GoodFET42: Designed by Travis Goodspeed, the GoodFET42 is an open-source JTAG adapter.

  4. Bus Pirate: Designed by Ian Lesnet of Dangerous Prototypes, the Bus Pirate can be used for debugging, prototyping, and analysing different devices.
